H.R.H. Princess Maja von Hohenzollern is an internationally successful designer for animals, children and lifestyle products. She co-habits with 13 dogs, 4 cats, numerous rabbits and hamsters, most of them she saved from certain perish on the streets in Southern Spain or from being slayed in animal killing centers. H.R.H. Princess Maja von Hohenzollern is a convinced vegetarian not only because of her respect and love for animals and humans, but as well based on her knowledge how close intensive livestock farming, environmental pollution and world hunger are associated. Ecology and sustainability are important to her.

For her global animal welfare commitments Princess Maja von Hohenzollern was honored with numerous international awards, including the "European Animal Welfare Award", ‘Shining Word Heroine Award’ (USA), ‘Aachen Animal Welfare Medal’, ‘Highest Honor By the City of Kiev’ (Ukraine), ‘Freedom of Kenmare’ (Ireland) and many more.

Since many years H.R.H. Princess Maja von Hohenzollern is a dedicated animal rights activist, working internationally for the protection of animals, and has rescued many animals from certain death. For this purpose she travels to crisis areas, actively rescues animals, supports animal-assisted projects and negotiates the protection of animals with the responsible politicians.

In particular, the rescue of stray dogs and cats is her heartfelt desire. Therefore she fights actively for the abolition of animal killing stations in Europe, advocates neutering programs, pet-related education projects for children, and improved animal protection laws.

Her commitment for animals in Romania and during the European Football Championship in the Ukraine made headlines and received worldwide attention when she spotlighted the bad situation of street animals.

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern achieved that the killing of animals stopped, and animal hospitals are built. She initiated a special TV program which makes it it’s business to find new homes for abandoned animals; she lectured about neutering programs; that’s why in this country she already bears the title ‘Mother Theresa of Animals’.

In Southern Spain, where she resides, she continuously saves stray dogs and cats and takes them in charge.
